#MCUSEETHISHAPPENING
Is it just me or does this kinda make sense to you, too..
OK, we all know that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is not the same as the Marvel Comic Universe. We accept it because it is great eye-candy and (usually) entertaining stories with a strong cast of actors led by visionary directors. But there have been many Easter eggs pointing to the comic universe (such as the Captain America #1 comic seen in the Captain America: The First Avenger movie and Dr. Selvig’s scrawlings on the blackboard in Thor 2: Dark World which pointed out the Earth-616 universe). We accepted the fact that the first Avengers movie wouldn’t have two key founding members in the line-up; the Astonishing Ant-Man and the Wondrous Wasp. We we’re happy that Captain America didn’t have to wait until the fourth installment to be introduced to the team. The Avengers kicked our ass and we forgave Joss.
Now with Avengers 2: Age of Ultron looming ahead of us with still no sign of Ant-Man, the creator of Ultron in the comic book universe, we wonder what his solo movie (which is slated to follow after Age of Ultron) will do to further his future involvement in the Avengers.
We also wait with wallets open for Avengers: Infinity War parts I & II.
Rumors have already been circulating that by the end of Age of Ultron the audience will see not only a divided team of Avengers but possibly the birth of a whole team of new heroes. With the much-anticipated and prematurely-hyped third installment of the Captain America franchise, Captain America: Civil War it seems logical that we will indeed see a second, a new team of Avengers. The team originally split mainly due to the need for personal time and dealing with personal commitments. Captain America, the last Avenger, enlisted new individuals and created a new team. The new team consisted of Captain America, Hawkeye, Quicksilver, and the Scarlet Witch.
Knowing what’s to come it sure looks like the MCinematicU and the MComicU will be
meeting in a major Easter egg nod by the time Avenger: Infinity War rolls around. We will be seeing, for maybe the only time if not at a hint at the end of Age of Ultron or Civil War, a meeting of the comic book founding Avenger’s members with the second team.
Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Ant-Man, Wasp, Captain America, Hawkeye, Quicksilver, and the Scarlet Witch.
And another nod we may see in the Cinematic Universe to its comic book origins is Ant-Man (Hank Pym) being the creator of Ultron.
No, not Tony Stark… not completely anyway. Yes, Tony has tweaked the program and maybe even incorporated alien technology into it, but it will be proven to have been originally created by Hank Pym. With Ant-Man scheduled to close out Phase 2 it seems logical that part of the movie will actually be a prelude to Age of Ultron. The back story of Hank Pym in the early days of the SSR / S.H.I.E.L.D. as Agent Ant-Man will tell of the creation of an early design of an AI named Ultron or the Ultron Initiative or Project Ultron. Hank had to put the program down after logic or programming failure, maybe he even retired after that mission from active field work. Since then the program has been sealed away. Then, one day, Tony Stark and Bruce Banner find it, redesign some of the programs and upload it into a master mainframe to remotely control an army of Avengerbots to help fight crime and hunt down Hydra. As it had once before the program goes off the map and Ultron goes rogue.
Full circle.
Ant-Man may come out after Age of Ultron, but the origins of the Avenger’s sequel will be seeded in Ant-Man.
But the main reason we know that the MCU will not pass up a chance to bring Ant-Man into the Avengers fold before the movie franchise founding members all leave or someone is killed off is this...
COME ON!!!
Try to tell me that if you saw this in a live-action Avengers movie you wouldn't think it was one of the coolest fuck'n things you've ever seen!
Now imagine that scene in 3D!!!
